Year 2041 Predicts

A few predictions for 30 years from now

Pulled out of thin air, but let's see what happens...here's 1-3:

1) 3D Printers will have become mainstream consumer products. Much like photocopiers, there will be cheap and rarely used versions for home; and industrial, heavily used models for office use.

2) Complete, blanketed wireless that is 100% free to use... but tightly controlled. Net Neutrality will be dead. Free wireless internet will be controlled by those paying for the infrastructure to power it and they'll make a profit on controlled and directed product purchases. 

As an example of what COULD happen: Roger's offers free high speed mobile internet, but the only web pages you can access are pages Roger's allows you to access. If you want to buy a movie or song on your phone, your only option is to buy from Roger's or a store endorsed by Roger's.

Think of the internet that you knew in 1999 as the wild west, whereas in 2041 it's Fifth Avenue (go ahead and try to steal from Saks, u kidz n ur downloadin). There will always be those fighting for the wild west to return, but frankly there's too much money to be made by enforcing restrictions. This is a big topic, more on this later...

3) Roomba will debut the home robotic nurse. We have way too many people getting old, and a love of robots that will only get stronger. This is a sure thing.
